Addicted or Overuse

To all: Just an update. Yesterday was a newsworthy day. The doctor took away Deana's pain medication and prescribed her with methadone. Now I am not a pharmacist but I know what Methadone is used for. Methadone is used for Heroin Addicts to try and get them unhooked. After voicing my concern with the doctor they stated they were concerned Deana was using the pain medication when it wasn't necessary. Apparently if Deana has to have a bone marrow transplant the pain medication she was getting needs to be available to her then. Deana had built up such a tolerance that she was starting to become disqualified for a candidate for Bone Marrow transplant. Deana is having classic withdrawal sypmtoms with out the pain medicaion. The second news worthy event was they think Deana should go on anti-depression medication. I will leave that one alone for now. That is it for the moment. Talk to you all again soon.

Truck parts

Pete

I went to their site, I did not see anything that made sense. I still think your best bet is to call them and ask about it.

Ignoring Me

To all: Okay I know it was a long time since I posted on the website but there is no need to ignore me. This hurts! Anyway Deana is still in the hospital. She is having sharp abdominal pains and it hurts when she urinates. She also has the ever persistant headache and a low grade constant fever. Getting out of the hospital doesn't appear in Deana's near future. Oh well such is life. I will write again when I have news.

Email on the way

To all: I just sent an email out asking for any all to donate to my team in training fundraising. 75% of all funds go directly to research aimed at obviously finding a cure. The other 25% goes to patient services. One of their programs is called First Connection. It puts current cancer patients in touch with successfull cancer patients who are currently in their 5 year or more reemmision mark. Deana will benefit alot from that program. I sent the email to all of the addresses I had: dad, sonya, and chad. Tyna I may have sent it to you but I dont if I have the correct email address. I dont know if the email addresses are correct or not but if one of you does recieve it can you pass it around to the rest and then send me current emails for you all. Any dontation you guys give would be greatly appreciated but more imporantly if you could forward the email to everyone you know. More than the donation anyone who reads what I wrote will be aware of the seriousness of Leukemia and even if they don't donate that would be enough. I want to help find a cure and raise awareness. Plus anyone who donates more than $60 gets their name on my t-shirt that I run in. Who wouldn't want that! :) Anyway Deana is doing okay, not great not horrible. We are hoping to be out of the hospital before her birthday. Keep your fingers crossed for her. Thanks again.

Dad: (Or anyone who know's companies that might be a good idea to approach) How do you think would be the way best way to approach your company. Do you want to just take the email to a higher up or should I send a personalized letter or .....? What do you think?

question for dad

Dad - when are you and mom departing? Not that I am trying to send you back before you even get here :) Not in the least, Matt and I (and lilly) are very excited to see you two. I was just curious if I needed to try to rearrange my schedule to spend more time with you guys or not.

To all others -- hope everyone is well, and enjoying this beuatiful weekend. As for me I am working. But that is ok too. Love to all.

Good news!

To all: Deana was experiencing alot of new symptoms over the last few days. Dizziness, light headed, depth perception issues, and haziness. The doctors were concerned that the cancer spread to her brain. Deana had to have another MRI of the brain. After a very stressful day and night the results finally came back negative. The MRI showed no signs of cancer. So now in the next few days we will meet with the physical therapist, nueroligist, and the nutritionist. We actually consulted with the physical therapist today. Everything Deana has can be explained by her lack of movement. The therapist did not say that her lack of movement was the cause of all her problems but stated that it was a possibility. Deana was put on a group of exercises that she could do while sitting in bed, and a tight schedule of walking. She looks like an old woman walking in the hallway. Atrophy has hit her pretty hard. Amazingly enough a lot of what the therapist told her today I have been telling her for many weeks. Oh well such is life. I apologize for not writing as ofter as I should. I will let you know what happens with the neurologist.
