In

To all: Thank you for the great advice on my financial woes. Just a quick update. Deana was released two days ago from the hospital and readmitted last night. Spinal tap headaches. Today they are thinking about giving her a blood patch so we will see. I will write again after I know more.

In or Out?

To all: Deana will be done today with her third session of chemotherapy. Today she has a lumbar puncture/chemotherapy treatment scheduled. If all goes well Deana will be allowed to go home tonight. I am weary about this because both of my kids have back to school colds. I am taking today off in order to take her home and maybe the rest of the week off to facilitate the kids staying away from Deana as much as possible. The doctor asked me if the kids could go somewhere else for a few days. I laughed at him. Anyway this week will be the worst of the third cycle because her counts should start dropping soon. The doctors are actually a little concerned because her counts have not started to drop like they are suppose too. Hopefully Deana is not building up an immunity to the chemotherapy. Anyway that is what is going on here. I do have a question for all to ponder and help me. I need help in thinking of creative ways to make sure my bills get paid. Sonya your ideas of asking for a defferment for the car and house payment were grand ideas. I am trying to make that happen and if it does I will be okay. But I need other options in case that doesn't go through because I have been making all my bills but living off of my credit cards. My credit cards were high before this so........ I have already taked a home equity line of credit on my house for $25,000 to pay off bills prior to this occurrence so that is not a viable option. I have a little more equity in my house but not enough to do anything with. Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated!

Random ramblings

Everyone

what is it about going back to work after a few days off (in this case it is monday but for me it is not always monday) that makes us cranky. I love my job, but also enjoy my time off. But some mornings when I know I have to work a few days in a row - I am downright crabby. Not to the cutomers of course, just overall. It dissapates by the end of the day and the following work days to come but....

Anywho - that is me today. A little annoyed - for no good reason. If you've noticed I keep changed the adjective its because none of them are entirely true - and yet they all fit :)

Well - i figured since your all family you should have to share in my pain - at least in terms of suffering through the time its taking you to read this.

No news from Cornell yet -- arggggg. I've pretty much said to H about the whole thing, but maybe they will still call and surprise me - but its been 6 weeks for pete's sake.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Hi Speed Internet

Deana is back in the hospital and I am back hooked up to high speed internet. I apologize for not posting when I am at home. I have dial up at home. That by itself would not be so bad but I have one computer that has given up the ghost completely and another laptop that refuses to stay signed on for more than two seconds before it disconnects and then does not allow you to sign on again. Out of all the children I have the most issues with electronics. I am a walking virus for computers. Deana had a great couple of days off. She spent a lot of time with the kids. She even pulled Brandon out of school and took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. I am back to work. I have only worked one day but I can tell that it is good for me. My last comment and most important is THANK YOU!!!!!! Deana recieved the package from the girls an hour before she went to the hospital. She loves everything she got. Bailey stole the pedicure kit and I had to sneak it out of her hands while she was sleeping. Apparently Deana had to fight for the gameboy from Bailey too because it was pink. Thank you for everything. Ask Alley how she knew my favorite game was Sudoku. I will be using that a lot, thankyou Alley. Thank you everyone for all the help and support. I love you all!

Damn dial up

To all.

I know I replied to that last post, but it doesn't seem to be there today. I could try to repeat myself but somehow it wont quite be the same :( Something about us three girls being like the 3 Musketeers - its meaning is gone now. Too bad - twas good stuff.

I have gotten the boot from home before, and copied what I typed and repasted it after resigning on - but last time I was sure I posted it and yet it is no where to be found. Are you more computer savy people hiding my blogs on me??? hehhe - well Clay that gene regarding figuring this site out must be contagious. (and if that word is spelled wrong, then your analyzing these blogs way to much!!)

I crack myself up. Well just wanted to say hello. I hope you and Deana are home for a few days Clay. We will be sending your box of fun out on Monday - so any last requests, better make em quick. Keep your humor up little bro - quoting Bruce Almighty is always a good sign!! That was a damn funny movie to - for anyone who hasn't seen it. Well I better get back to work.

Love to all - and this better post or else.... I don't know but I will think of something.

MRI

All

I just talked to Carol. The MRI came back negative, no sign of anything unusual! She had spoken to both D and Pete. Quite a relief for them both I am sure.

Pete, give my best to D, tell her to get tough.

Rock Bottom

To all: I believe Deana has hit rock bottom. Her fevers continue, her nausea is back, and her headaches are soaring uncontrollably. Today she had an MRI on her head so the doctors can evaluate her headaches. The doctors are concerned at how long they have existed, and the fact that the headaches no longer get better with pain medication. The doctors were not really giving on what exactly they were looking for with an MRI. But being that we all are related I am sure with in five minutes of reading this you will be able to come up with as many horrible reasons as I did. Combine Deana's physical state and add to it a very emotional week. Brandon's orientation for First Grade was today, and the first day of school is tomorrow. Bailey's first day of pre-school is Thursday. Deana will miss all of that. I have tried to keep her attitude positive, and keep her spirits high. I have been less than successful. As many of you have probably guessed I am not at work. One more week off. If this is truly rock bottom there is no where to go but up. This is Clay Meeks with the Channel Blue news until next time, good day, good evening, and good night.

Would you believe still in the hospital?

To all: Okay before you start to read this let me say it is early and I am tired. I am not held responsible for any spelling errors of any kind. Deana has yet to break her fever. The good news is that they finally found an infection. I say that is good news because maybe now they can actually fight it. I am not sure when we will be getting out of here. I still have plans to go back to work on Tuesday so we will see. I will keep everyone update on what I hear from the doctor.

Still in the hospital!

To all: Deana is still in the hospital but she is doing much better. They have yet to determine if she actually has an infection. All tests have come back negative. This is a good sign. The doctor believes that she is just having an adverse effect to the chemotherapy. I am thinking to myself, "big suprise you dump jet fuel down your stomach and have an adverse reaction!" Damn I should be a doctor. Anyway Deana's fever has stabilized to about a 100, and she is in better spirits. I left Deana for five hours today and when I got back she was all happy, alert, and cool as a cucumber. Should I take that personally. Actually I think she does better when I am not there for two reasons. One: Deana is stubborn and refuses to listen to me while I am in the room. Second: When I leave she wants to impress me when I get back so she does everything I asked her to do earlier that she refuses to do while I am there. That said I am going back to work on Tuesday with the intention of working the whole week. It will be good for both of us I think. Hope all is well with everyone else.

Still in the hospital, I am bored!

To all: We are still in the hospital. Deana has been diagnosed with an infection. To tell you what kind of infection would mean you all know more than me. The doctors are still waiting for all the test results back to tell us what kind of infection. Deana is on a steady diet of pain killers, anti-vomitting medication, and sleeping pills. She is very alert and vibriant. I also have some ocean front property for sale in Arizona if anyone is interested. The excitement in here is killing me. Anyway that is the news, I will let you know when I hear more.
